High Wycombe helicopter crash: Man fighting for life

A man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a helicopter crash.
Three men were in the aircraft when it came down at Wycombe Air Park near High Wycombe, in Buckinghamshire.

The helicopter was resting on its side on grass when ambulance crews arrived and the occupants were outside.

The two most serious casualties were taken to the major trauma unit at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

One suffered life-threatening injuries, while another had serious head, chest, leg, abdominal and shoulder injuries.

The third man suffered "less serious back injuries", South Central Ambulance Service said. He was taken to hospital in Slough.
Emergency services were alerted shortly after 9.30am.

One of the first at the scene was an off-duty paramedic, who was at the airport waiting for his own flying lesson.

He provided treatment to the most seriously injured patient before ambulance crews arrived.

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch has been informed.
