Two sunbathers killed in Lisbon after plane makes emergency landing on beach

A light plane has killed two sunbathers after making an emergency landing on a beach near Lisbon.
Portuguese officials say the victims were a 56-year-old man and an eight-year-old girl - and no one else is believed to have been injured.

The two occupants of the plane escaped unhurt and were led away by police.

The plane made an emergency landing at Caparica, about 20 miles south of Lisbon, after getting into difficulties.

Caparica beach was packed with sunbathers when the plane came down in sunny weather, at what is the height of the summer season.
