National Rail : West Coast main line faces 'major' disruption



Rail passengers travelling to or from London Euston have been warned they face major disruption.

 
National Rail had advised West Coast main line users not to travel on Sunday morning as engineers worked to fix damaged wiring.


Passengers await news at London Euston


It tweeted just after midday, saying some lines had reopened and services would start to resume.


Passengers using Virgin and London Midland services have been warned to expect delays throughout the day.


Trains may be delayed by up to 30 minutes or timetables revised.
Underground trains from Euston ran as normal, Network Rail said.


Services between London Euston and the following stations are affected:

  • Birmingham New Street
  • Chester
  • Crewe
  • Edinburgh
  • Glasgow Central
  • Liverpool Lime Street
  • Manchester Piccadilly
  • Milton Keynes Central
  • Northampton
  • Watford Junction
