Hackney stabbing: Man in his early 20s dies in street after attack

A man in his early 20s has died after being stabbed in east London.

The Metropolitan Police said the wounded man approached officers in Link Street, Hackney, just before 20:00 BST on Wednesday.

He was given first aid, but died at the scene. London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance also attended.

Less than two miles away, a man in his 50s was earlier pronounced dead at a bookmakers in Upper Clapton Road following reports of an assault.

It takes the number of people killed in the capital to more than 50 this year.
The deaths follow two fatal shootings on Monday and the fatal stabbing of a suspected burglar on Wednesday.
