Oil prices rise on US President Donald Trump statement

Oil prices are up in early trading following US President Donald Trump's promise to make a decision on whether or not to attack Syria "very quickly".

Brent crude rose 1.3% to $69.55 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate crude futures climbed 1.4% to $64.31 a barrel.

Hope that a potential trade war between the US and China could be avoided also influenced oil markets.
